5月17日，中国对豁免新冠疫苗知识产权保护的诉求表示支持，称其赞成推动公平获取疫苗的一切努力。印度和南非曾向世界贸易组织提议，取消新冠相关医疗产品的知识产权限制。此次中国的声明是目前中国*府对该提议最有力的支持。该提议自去年10月就开始讨论，但现在仍有德国等国反对。下月初，世贸组织将召开会议对修订版的提议展开讨论。
